Programs & Ministries
Discover opportunities for connection and learning in our programs.

Children's Religious Exploration
At Harrisonburg Unitarian Universalists, we grow curious, compassionate kids by exploring life’s big questions through stories, service, art, and play – in a supportive spiritual community where every child and family belongs.

Social Justice
The Harrisonburg Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Committee supports the congregation’s work toward the two aspects of our mission: service and activism; acts of kindness and engagement to build a better world.

Covenant Groups
Covenant groups meet once a month to discuss a single, broad topic. Learning to listen, knowing others on a deeper level, and building empathy and trust are primary goals of the groups.

Caring Circle
Our Caring Circle is an expression of our commitment of love and care for our church community. We do this by ongoing expressions of support and coordinating assistance for members in times of special need, crises or transition.

Red Tent Book Discussion Group
Our book discussion group has about 10 to 12 core members, but other people do occasionally attend. We read both fiction and non-fiction, and choose the books by consensus, although everyone is encouraged to suggest titles. There is no formal pattern to the discussion, and new participants are welcome. The group normally meets on the first Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. to Noon in the CLA Room at the HUU Building. 2025 Book Selections January - Blind Man Walking: The Amer
